Shooting in a Florida supermarket kills three people, including a shooter

A spokesman for Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Teri Barbera, said in a statement that shootings at Royal Palm Beach Publics killed men, women and children.

The shooting occurred in a Publix grocery store in Royal Palm Beach, 80 miles (130 kilometers) north of Miami, police said. Their identities have not been disclosed.

According to authorities, one of the deceased found in the store was the shooter. She did not say whether it was the man or the woman who did the shooting, but said the shooter was among the three dead.

Additional details, such as whether anyone else was injured, were not immediately available.

"This was not an active shooter situation", the sheriff's office said without providing further details.

The Sheriff's Office at Palm Beach said in a tweet that the incident was "not an active shooter situation".

Publix has more than 1,200 stores across seven states in the Southeast U.S. Maria Brous, a Publix spokesperson, told USA TODAY the company was cooperating with local law enforcement.

Deputies discovered three people, one adult male, one adult female, and one youngster, dead from gunshot wounds when they arrived.

The archer was among the deceased, according to a tweet from the sheriff's office.

Joey Mendoza, 62, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he was pulling into the store's parking lot when he saw the large police presence surrounding the building.
