COVID-19 count in India lowest in 60 days

Over 3,380 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, the Union health and family welfare ministry said. In the last 24 hours, active cases decreased by 80,745.

Ontario reported 663 new cases COVID-19 Sunday, besting a seven month low reported Tuesday, with 40 of them in Ottawa.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 115 new cases in Toronto, 112 in Peel Region, 33 in Durham Region and 34 in the Waterloo region. Since then, the new COVID cases rose exponentially and reached their peak at over 4.5 lakh in May starting.

The daily positivity rate stands further dips to 5.78 per cent, remaining below the 10 per cent-mark for 12 consecutive days, while the weekly positivity rate stands at 6.89 per cent.

The national Recovery Rate has increased to 93.67 per cent.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 fell to 545, however, the total number is underreported on weekends as many hospitals fail to submit their data.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 36,47,46,522 samples have been tested up to June 5 for Covid-19.

OPH reported 31 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, a drop from the 55 new cases reported Friday, for a total of 27,265 cases during the pandemic.

According to the Health Ministry, a total of 1,89,232 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,69,84,781 till date.

As many as 231,322,417 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered so far. Of these 20,36,311 samples were tested on Saturday.

In the last three weeks, India has recorded over 85,000 deaths.
