"They will continue to work together to shape and approve foundation strategies, advocate for the foundation's issues and set the organization's overall direction", the foundation said. "We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life", the joint statement read. "Gates recognizes that entertaining Epstein's ideas related to philanthropy gave Epstein an undeserved platform that was at odds with Gates's personal values and the values of his foundation".
