While standing next to a man who would later be arrested for his involvement in the January 6 riot at the Capitol, Greene-known best for her belief in the QAnon conspiracy theory-can be heard calling the congresswoman "nutty" and "crazy eyes" while walking towards her office.

When asked on Thursday to respond to the reports about the verbal altercation, a spokesperson for Greene sent PEOPLE a link to a tweet from the Republican in which she called Ocasio-Cortez "Ms. Defund The Police" and said her Democratic colleague wanted "to call the police for security bc she's afraid of debating with me".

"And any US Member of Congress supporting terrorists Hamas should be expelled".

Greene has been a controversial figure since her 2020 campaign, and Democrats voted to strip her of her committee assignments earlier this year because of extremist statements.

Greene has been a lightning rod for controversy since even before entering Congress in January, in part because of her past support of the freakish QAnon conspiracy theory. Greene went on to criticize the Democrat, stating she uses her social media platform to spread anti-American rhetoric and defend terrorists. She also defends Antifa and BLM rioters.

The clip ends with Greene drawing a picture of a wall in the sign-in book outside of Ocasio-Cortez's office, a reference to Trump's campaign pledge to build a wall along the southern USA border with Mexico. Two men appear along with her in the video, also mocking Ocasio-Cortez and her staff through the mail slot.

This is not the first confrontation Greene has had with a Democratic member of Congress that has caused them to raise safety concerns. Greene denied the allegation and accused Bush of "lying" and of leading a "terrorist mob" because Bush supported Black Lives Matter. She also said Greene's behavior is being condoned by GOP leadership.

Greene described how she approached AOC to reporters, "By talking to her, talking to her. MALE & FEMALE. Trust the Science!"

She said 'screaming.' Do you know what screaming is?

Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., called Greene's poster "sickening, pathetic, unimaginably cruel".

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., spoke to Greene before she was removed from her committees and after Republicans started to complain about her attempts to delay routine floor actions, but neither those nor other conversations resulted in punishment. "And so I think that this is an assessment that needs to be made by the proper professional". Before walking away, Greene told a small group of reporters, "She's a chicken, she doesn't want to debate the Green New Deal", adding, "These members are cowards". Her past comments now have much greater meaning. "I hold her to her word, as well as her actions going forward".

Two of the most high-profile members of the House-one on the left, the other on the right-are the focus of a flurry of news coverage on Thursday.

"You need to stop being a baby and stop locking your door, and come out and face the American citizens that you serve", Greene says in the clip, which was saved by CNN's KFile team before it was deleted from Facebook.
