NY officials altered count of nursing home deaths, newspapers report

The former aide is accusing Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment.

The governor did not deny that he asked Bennett personal questions; he said in the statement that he would have no further comment until the review concluded.

Charlotte Bennett told CBS that she doesn't believe Cuomo was merely being flirtatious. She said Cuomo told her he's okay being with anyone over the age of 22, Bennett is 25.

"Without explicitly saying it, he implied to me that I was old enough for him and he was lonely", Bennett said.

An explosive report released by the New York Times on Thursday night alleges that top aides to embattled New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) rewrote a report that was prepared by New York Department of Health Officials in June of 2020 to omit numerous nursing home deaths that had occurred in the state. Bennett's lawyer said the behavior was immediately reported, and is confident that the governor was made aware of this.

The governor insisted this week that he never touched anyone inappropriately. The Governor repeatedly said he had no idea he made anyone uncomfortable. Cuomo's chief of staff.

The allegations by Bennett, Boylan and a third woman - Anna Ruch, 33, who says Cuomo grabbed her face and kissed her at a Manhattan wedding reception in 2019 - are the subject of a pending probe by an independent law firm to be selected by Attorney General Letitia James.
