"It's very important, especially for us as Republicans, to make clear that we aren't the party of white supremacy". At one point, she said people need answers about what Trump was during on January 6th and whether his tweet attacking Mike Pence during the riots was "a premeditated effort to provoke violence".

If the reports come true, it won't be the first time Trump hints at running for President in CPAc as in the past, too, he has used the platform to express his intentions of gaining power.

"His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world's largest megaphone".

One of his longtime advisors told Axios' Mike Allen that his speech will be a "show of force", and meant to show that he still rules over the GOP, even though he is no longer president and has been barred from major social media platforms. Let's say somebody gets impeached. He is really the person that everyone will continue to turn to in order to help them get across the line... Donald Trump's electorate, containing millions of extremist voters infected with the lies of the Trump contagion, could not be sacrificed for an obviously correct moral decision. But hours after his vote to convict, the executive committee of the state GOP voted unanimously to censure him.

Half of those polled also said the Republican Party should be "more loyal" to him. "We have to keep these voters engaged in the party", the top adviser said. "We sent him there to represent us, and we feel very strongly that he did not represent us".

More respondents said they were loyal to Trump (54%) than those who said they were loyal to the GOP (34%).

Trump has been a regular at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"He is the head of the Republican Party". There was an impeachment trial that, again, made Biden look more presidential and created political space to move the COVID relief deal forward.

Former vice-president Mike Pence has declined a CPAC invitation, politico.com reported.

In an expletive-laced phone call with House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy while the Capitol was under attack, then-President Donald Trump said the rioters cared more about the election results than McCarthy did. State parties have censured representatives Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Tom Rice of SC. She was joined by Democrats and nine other House GOP members. The GOP took the path of cowardice.

The leaders of Utah's Republican party, however, put out a statement saying they're not behind the effort and that they support a 'diversity of thought'. In this case, the cost will be a political death spiral in which there will be fewer but worse Republicans.

Trump, who told his supporters following his acquittal in the Senate impeachment trial that 'our historic, patriotic and handsome movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun, ' continues to hold majority support almost a month after leaving office.
