Sad news for fans of Jessica Campbell, best known for her role as Tammy Metzler in Election, as she shockingly passed away at the end of 2020. The results of an autopsy by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner have not yet been shared by her family.

Speaking with TMZ, Campbell's cousin Sarah Wessling said that she worked a normal day, seeing patients at her practice, and returned home to visit with her mother and aunt.

Campbell, who left acting and went on to become a naturopathic physician, was found unresponsive in the bathroom by her aunt. EMTs were unsuccessful in reviving her. Working with Jessica on Election was such a pleasure.

The family also said she had been complaining about a bit of a cold and had felt a little congested.

Campbell, who also played Amy Andrews on "Freaks and Geeks", is survived by a 10-year-old son named Oliver. She starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Broderick and Chris Klein in the cult classic film Election.

The former actress was working as a naturopathic physician. "Heartbreaking news. My deepest sympathy to her son and the rest of her family".

She played Tammy Metzler, the younger sister of Klein's character Paul Metzler. "I'm sending all my love to Jessica's family and loved ones", Witherspoon posted on Twitter. She first appeared alongsideSarah Jessica Parker in the 1992 TV movie In The Best Interest Of The Children.

The family have confirmed that Jessica has been cremated and they are planning a memorial for her.

Wessling remembered Campbell as "a true adventurer in every sense of the word".
