Chief Scientific Adviser Moncef Slaoui said Tuesday that J&J's vaccine could receive an authorization in mid-February.

Oldham Council and local Global Positioning System decided that homeless people should be made a priority group to get the vaccine at the start of the rollout, while in Southeast Asia, Indonesia chose to inoculate the younger, more mobile population.

The federal government has landed an agreement with Pfizer for another 20 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine.

Swissmedic also stressed that coronavirus vaccines must be stored and transported in an unbroken cold chain at temperatures as low as -70 degrees Celsius.

According to the CEO of Pfizer, the Covid-19 vaccine has advanced years in vaccine science, and now is the time to use the advances for other viral diseases, such as the flu.

Ohio State University researchers reviewed 49 vaccine studies in humans dating back 30 years that document how stress, depression and poor health behaviors can negatively affect the body's immune response to vaccination, and how improving health factors can enhance that response.

"The pandemic shows no signs of slowing, and we, like everyone, are eager for more tools to help stop it".

"We remain in active discussions with regulators, including on the approval and validation of our manufacturing processes".
