This time, the unlucky guy chosen to play Reaper's Game of life and death is Rindou. Square Enix revealed the news through a mysterious teaser website that appeared seven days ago on November 17, 2020.

After originally releasing on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, The World Ends With You received a second wind in 2018 thanks to its revival on the Nintendo Switch. And now, it's getting an anime.

The announcement trailer shows off how combat will work in the new title and introduces a handful of its main characters, such as Rindo, Fret, Nagi, Minamimoto, and the Game Master Shiba.

The brief official description for the game is as follows: "NEO: The World Ends with You transports players to the streets of the Shibuya, where they will take part in the "Reapers" Game, ' a life-or-death battle for survival". We'll just have to wait for more details as next summer approaches.

Modern Shibuya has been recreated in a comic-inspired style, and you will be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and culture of the bustling city while battling monsters and completing missions in an effort to change the fate that you have been handed. And based off the trailer, it will tie into what happened in the Final Remix storyline of the original game while also delving into new characters and a new perspective in regards to gameplay and exploration.
