Manchester United also said that the club's IT defence system brought the issue under control later on.

Cybercriminals targeted Manchester United's IT systems in a "sophisticated" hacking operation but the English Premier League team said it fended off the strike.

James has made only five appearances in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side so far this campaign.

James had the opportunity to get some regular minutes under his belt with Wales during the worldwide break, and scored a stunning goal in a 3-1 Nations' League win over Finland on Wednesday, but he insists he doesn't enjoy playing for his country more than his club at the moment.

"There are obviously times where I played a lot last season".

It would not have appeared the case for fans watching him play for Wales last night. I may not have played as much this season, but I am sticking in there and always in and around it.

"There would be many clubs who want to use Dan James, not necessarily all the time, and I think that's where he's got to develop his game, where it becomes a regular over 90 minutes, not just impactful effect".

Unlike at United, James is often given a full game to showcase his abilities for Wales.

Wales are now unbeaten in a record 10 competitive matches but there was less good news for Scotland who missed out on Nations League promotion after going down to a 1-0 defeat in Israel.

'We came into the group knowing there were going to be tough games, but we've defended really well and caused problems to teams going forward'.

"Qualifying for the Euros was such a massive achievement and we've got that to look forward to".

'We were totally aware of it (the World Cup prize) and it puts us in a great position going forward.
