According to CBS Sports, part of the issue on whether to play came when a Clemson player's COVID-19 test came back positive Saturday morning.

"This game was not canceled because of COVID".

Dabo Swinney shared his frustration over Saturday's postponement of No. 4 Clemson's scheduled game against Florida State on Sunday."I'm incredibly disappointed we did not play and I'm disappointed in the decision to not play", Swinney said to media Sunday. The 2020 ACC football scheduling includes 11 games (10 conference and one non-conference), played over at least 13 weeks with each team having two open dates.

Star Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence was scheduled to make his first start since October 24.

This is the third ACC game that has been postponed this weekend.

"Man, we were ready to play", he wrote.

"Clemson has followed all of the ACC's protocols in preparation for this game", he said.

"We listened to our medical folks and their assessment of the risk and we decided it wasn't safe to play today", Florida State athletic director David Coburn said Saturday. "We look ahead to returning to action next week against Pitt for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day", Radakovich said in a statement.

The ACC also announced several schedule changes.

Boston College's home game against Louisville, originally scheduled for December 12, has been moved up to November 28 in order to complete as many conference games as possible, a news release from BC athletics said. The Demon Deacons' game with Duke, which was called off for this week, will not be rescheduled.
