As of 12:00 AM June 1, 2020, the Department of State Health Services will perform all COVID-19 case investigation and contact tracing activities for Collin County's local health authority.

Collin County indicated earlier this month it "will no longer post COVID-19 case data" on its website.

State-wide, a total of 6,808 additional cases were announced, down slightly from the 7,126 cases included in Thursday's information. A recent surge in cases has taken Russian Federation past the 2 million threshold, behind only the United States, India, Brazil, and France in total infections.

The number of new COVID-19 cases in yesterday's COVID-19 Update from the Manitowoc County Health Department may have been a little higher than average, but there was a new record set in a different category.

Through today, 234 have died from COVID-19 related illness in the county. Some hospitals in country are experiencing serious shortages of drugs used to treat COVID-19 and can not restock because of panic buying, high demand and problems with a new labelling system.

While it took the region almost nine months to record its first 5 million cases, the next 10 million cases were reported in less than two months, according to a Reuters analysis. There are 84 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Fayette County.
