While Google requests numerous tasks to build up more data for itself, it looks like other entities are free to request tasks as well if they're in need of crowdsourced info. Alongside, there are also several applications coming up from worldwide developers targeting the needs of Indian users. Google has, in the application's description, mentioned that the new app is only limited to selected testers at the moment.

Google is now testing an app called "Task Mate" in India that lets users earn by completing various tasks listed on the app, according to reports.

The data collected by such tasks will help Google "improve mapping services and bring business in your local area online." . Users can also keep a track of their tasks in their account as a number of tasks completed, correctly done, under review and their level.

"Task Mate is a beta app made by Google that provides access to a variety of simple tasks, posted by businesses around the world".

The development was shared by a Reddit user (ppatra) and first reported by 9to5Google. While the app is available to download on Google Play, you can't use it unless you have a referral code, which is available through invite only.

A Google support page of Task Mate App has also come up. At least Task Mate seems to pay in actual cash though, rather than mere Play Store credit.

Once the task is completed accurately, the user will be paid in their local currency.

Much like with Google Opinion Rewards, you won't be able to quit your day job with the compensation Google offers. The tasks, as per the report, are classified into two categories - Sitting tasks and Field tasks.

While "Field Tasks" may ask the user to stroll to a nearby business. It is unclear whether that will be changed to reflect in rupees for the Indian audience once Google's Task Mate is officially launched in the region. Once you complete a task and have earned some money out of it, all you need to do is click on the "Cash Out" button and the money will be transferred to your linked payment account.
