Official certifications of election results in the 50 states have started rolling in, and are expected to show that Biden won some 6 million votes more than Trump, and 306 votes in the Electoral College that determines the victor, compared to Trump's 232. A spokesman says President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has been infected with the coronavirus. The press secretary brought up "baseless allegations" that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election in order to get Trump elected.

While Georgia formally certified Biden as the victor on Friday after its Republican Secretary of State withstood pressure from Trump and his acolytes to invalidate a large number of ballots, GOP lawmakers in MI said after a meeting with the lame duck President that they had no information "that would change the outcome of the election" while pledging they will follow the law and the normal process of awarding the state's electors to the candidate who won the popular vote.

United States President Donald Trump's desperate bid to overturn the November 3 election result was dealt another blow after it was announced he had lost the state of Georgia.

Meanwhile, two GOP state lawmakers from MI met with the president at the White House on Friday over its election process, amid the president's ongoing legal challenges in several battleground states. Stay tuned!" And from MI lawmakers who were summoned to the White House came this: "Michigan's certification process should be a deliberate process free from threats and intimidation.

"It's an abuse of office, it's an open attempt to intimidate election officials, it's absolutely appalling", Bob Bauer, a legal adviser to the Biden campaign, told reporters.

In her first news conference on Friday since 1 October, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany refused to acknowledge President-elect Biden's victory.

"Let us not forget the inexcusable transition or lack thereof that President Trump had to endure in 2016 and four years into his presidency".

Now that the results are certified, Trump's campaign will have two business days to request a recount since the margin is within 0.5%.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a self-proclaimed Trump supporter, said: "Like other Republicans".

There is a "right way and a wrong way" for Trump to contest what he sees as election irregularities, Susan Collins, the Maine Senator, said in a statement. I'm disappointed, our candidate didn't win Georgia's electoral votes. "Working as an engineer throughout my life, I live by the motto that numbers don't lie", he said, adding that the numbers presented today were correct.

The hand count showed Biden won by more than 12,000 votes out of about 5 million cast, according to data released by Raffensperger's office Thursday.
