There is a strong argument that, when it comes to keeping the ball out of the goal, West Bromwich Albion have the best goalkeeper in the Premier League right now.

The visitors were unlucky not to win their own penalty when Conor Gallagher was brought down by Fernandes in the 46th minute.

Coote over turns his penalty decision after looking at the screen.

Fernandes for his part saw his initial spot-kick saved.

Fernandes had to take his penalty twice after a VAR review showed that Sam Johnstone was off his line for the first attempt.

"We deserved to go in front in the second half".

He added: "The problem is we've got defenders who, one-on-one, aren't very good at defending".

"We've got plenty of quality and sometimes the most hard thing is to keep it simple and sometimes we want to over-complicate things".

The Red Devils were far from convincing at Old Trafford though, and the Baggies might have escaped with a point had they been more clinical in the final third. The propensity to make another miss should be replaced by a decisive edge to put the ball into the net.

Not taking our chances has seen the club huff and puff their way to a victory.

"We have to make sure that next time we have more concentration in attack and make sure we try to kill the game early".

The 26-year-old has had an incredible knack of scoring from the spot since moving to Old Trafford in January, converting 12 penalties in all competitions. It was a landmark goal that took him above Denis Irwin in penalties converted for United.
