Due to the unexpected death of the films' star, Chadwick Boseman, as well as the continuing trend of the coronavirus, production of Black Panther was delayed, but filming is now set to begin in Atlanta this July. While Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler are working out a plan of how Black Panther 2 will come about, a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter may have unveiled some of their drawn-out ideas. While the role now remains a mystery, speculation has already begun to spread that the actor will be portraying Namor the Submariner, with the Atlantean king's involvement in the Black Panther sequel having been rumored for some time.

While plot details remain scarce at this time, Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerto is now in talks to play the movie's main antagonist.

Ledward filed a petition to be appointed the administrator in October after Boseman died in August at the age of 43 without leaving a will. "Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV".

Who do you think Tenoch Huerta is playing in Black Panther 2? "Unfortunately, our king is dead, not only in fiction but also in real life".

Alonso added, "Because Chadwick was not only a wonder. but it also seems to me that as a character what he did elevated us as a company, and has left his moment in history". We are taking our time to think how are we going to continue that story and what are we going to do to honor this chapter and this unexpected and bad death. I know that sometimes two months go by or three months go by in production and one says, already, it was a long time. It's also unclear how the film will deal with Boseman's loss, though there won't be any CGI replacement and Letitia Wright's role as Shuri may be expanded.

Black Panther II was initially scheduled to begin filming in March for release on May 6th 2022, although it will presumably now be pushed back until later in the year.

The unfortunate passing of Chadwick Boseman has raised a lot of questions in regards to what Black Panther's role might be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. So we can appreciate the joy that comes from winning.
