Xbox may soon have Streaming sticks for xCloud cloud gaming

Microsoft is addressing the issue by adding touch-screen-based controls to 10 more games on its xCloud service for Android smartphones and tablets.

"You could imagine us even having something that we just included in the Game Pass subscription that gave you an ability to stream xCloud games to your television and buying the controller".

This is an idea that Microsoft has explored before but with the launch of xCloud, the timing appears to be better than ever. Part of that is considering additional layers to XCloud and GamePass, which include the possibilities that can be offered for a TV stick instead of asking users to get a console or other Microsoft-powered device.

In addition to streaming to TVs, Spencer addressed Microsoft's ongoing efforts to bring xCloud to iOS, which have so far been blocked due to Apple's restrictive App Store policies.

"We have a good solution on iOS that I think it'll be coming kind of early next year; I feel good about the solution that we have", reported Spencer. We already know that Microsoft is looking to expand its cloud gaming service with its new consoles.

In the same Stratechery interview, he also mooted the idea of an Xbox Game Pass Platinum tier that would guarantee access to new hardware as part of the subscription.
