"Senator Perdue never would have done this to a male colleague". Vote him out." In a second tweet, she wrote, "He has been her Senate colleague for over 3 years. 3.

A Republican senator found it amusing to mispronounce the name of Democratic Vice President candidate Kamala Harris during a rally for President Trump on October 16, 2020 in Macon, Georgia.

At a rally in Mecken on Friday, Pardew said to Harris, "Kah-mah-la?"

According to the Quinnipiac poll, when it comes to favorability ratings, likely voters have a positive view of Ossoff 46 - 36 percent, and a mixed view of Perdue with 43 percent saying favorable and 46 percent said unfavorable.

Perdue, who serves on the Senate Budget Committee with Harris, appeared to mock his Senate colleague's name when ahead of Trump's speech at a rally in Macon, Georgia, he referred to the vice presidential candidate as "Kamala, -mala, -mala, I don't know, whatever", to jeers of laughter from the crowd.

"Kamala is pronounced "'comma-la, ' like the punctuation mark", the California senator has previously said.

Mr. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are among the top Republicans who have repeatedly mispronounced it. This makes her the first Black woman and first Asian American to join a major party's presidential ticket. "Years. THREE. Do better".

"He didn't mean anything by it", Black wrote. "We are so much better than this", Ossoff tweeted.

In 2019 memoir The Truths We Hold, Harris clarified the meaning and pronunciation of her name.

John Burke, a spokesman for Perdue's campaign, tweeted that the senator "simply mispronounced Senator Harris' name, and he didn't mean anything by it". "His disgusting efficiency at this time is nothing greater than a determined canine whistle from a shedding politician who was already caught working anti-Semitic adverts in opposition to Jon Ossoff". "He was making an argument against the radical socialist agenda that she and her endorsed candidate Jon Ossoff are pushing, which includes the Green New Deal, Medicare-for-all, raising taxes, and holding up COVID relief for the people of Georgia".

Georgia's Democratic Party demanded that Perdue apologize. "He owes Georgians an apology for his offensive display".
