Pelinka's comment comes in as a direct response to Riley's dig at Lakers' title, as he feels that LeBron James and co. brilliantly adjusted to the circumstances around them and were able to deliver when it mattered. He was pointing out to the fact that Heat played the finals without two very important players in Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic. But there's always going to be that asterisk, that caveat. "But I'm not going to look back on it, I'm just going to look at all the positive things".

Riley continued by saying that he wishes he could've seen a Finals where all of the players Heat were healthy, but that he still gives the Lakers credit where it's due.

"I would like to see what it would be like with everybody whole", the 75-year-old said, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. "But we'll get that shot again".

In making the comments, Riley opened himself up to potential criticism or having his comments simply dismissed as sour grapes.

The trio of salt shaker emojis offers a subtle way for Ross to indicate that Riley is a bit "salty" after losing to LeBron James and the Lakers in six games in the Finals. "But there will be always be that asterisk; if we had Bam and Goran 100 percent - Goran was our leading scorer [entering the Finals] - it might have gone to a seventh game", said Riley on Friday. Plus, this National Basketball Association season was unlike any other in league history, and was perhaps the most challenging season of all.

The thought bothers him so much that he believes there should be an asterisk beside the Lakers' latest championship, considering that the Heat might have taken the Finals to a Game 7 had they not been bitten by the injury bug at the most inconvenient of times.

The comments were met with a lot of pushback from the social media sphere.
