Jennifer Lawrence Reveals She Was 'A Little Republican' & Voted for John McCain

"Now, I'm a lifelong Republican - and I'm still a Republican. I'm an actor, I want everyone to see my movies", she said on Wednesday during the podcast. "I was a little Republican", revealed the Academy Award victor in an interview on the Absolutely Not podcast.

Buckley said he believes New Hampshire is still a swing state and that Democrats or Republicans can be competitive in any race in the state, but says others are slowly beginning to see New Hampshire as a non-competitive state at the Presidential level.

Cahaly said, "What we've noticed is that these polls are predominantly missing, you know, the hidden Trump vote, what I have referred to as the shy Trump voter".


Though she says it's "extremely hard to talk about politics", Lawrence is now speaking up about who she's voting for in the 2020 election and why.

As part of V Magazine's Thought Leaders issue, Lawrence endorsed Biden and Harris, noting Biden's selflessness and his concern for the safety of the American people as important factors in her decision. "I was a little Republican".

Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence said that she used to be Republican but that the election of President Donald Trump has pushed her to abandon the party and turn to the left. "Because this is an impeached president who's broken many laws and has refused to condemn white supremacy", she said.


US voters have cast more than 47 million votes for the Nov 3 presidential election, eclipsing total early voting from the 2016 election with 12 days to go, according to data compiled by the US Elections Project.

"Jennifer Lawrence previously discussed her political leanings during an interview with comedian and 'Broad City" star Ilana Glazer, where she said that her beliefs began to change when she became a "citizen of the world".

After a two-year-long hiatus, Lawrence is set to make her return to acting in Adam McKay's new Netflix climate change satire titled "Don't Look Up".
