Details are slim at the moment, and we aren't sure if Snyder is putting the Joker into the film because he was initially cut out of the final version, or if the director is going in a new direction.

After heavy negotiations, Snyder finally announced that the original cut would be released as Zack Snyder's Justice League in collaboration with the streaming service HBO Max.

With Jared's Joker entering the picture, the movie now ties up with Suicide Squad that saw him mark his first appearance as DC's notorious villain.

For a film that many were adamant about being completely "done" and ready to release, it seems unusual that additional filming is going down. Johns and Berg were producers in the theatrical cut of the film directed by Joss Whedon.

Leto's project is now in the first stages of production and will star a number of notable Hollywood faces like Ray Fisher, Ben Affleck and even Amber Heard. Though he won an Oscar in 2014, Leto's reputation suffered after his obsessive method actor antics were publicized.

For those who need a quick refresher, Zack Snyder's Justice League came about after the director was taken off the 2017 film in order to deal with his daughter's death.

Leto's role in Suicide Squad, which was originally much bigger, was shaved down to barely 10 minutes in the film.

On the other hand, insiders told the media outlet that Geoff Johns and Jon Berg won't be receiving producer credits in the upcoming Snyder Cut. In an exclusive report, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Leto is involved in the filming of additional scenes for the four-chapter project which hits HBO Max next year.

Regarding Jared Leto, the original plan at WB was that he was supposed to star in multiple movies as the Joker along with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. As someone who loves DC but is thoroughly meh on Snyder, I can't say I'm excited about any of the above.
