The Dallas Cowboys have struggled all season, and it was amplified Sunday in their loss to the Washington Football Team.

Washington linebacker Jon Bostic launched himself at the sliding Dalton and crushed Dalton's head/neck area. This is an illegal play that Bostic was immediately tossed out for. Bostic was ejected from the game, while Dalton was later ruled out with a concussion, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. The Cowboys were losing 25-3 late in the third quarter.

Dalton was making his second start for the Cowboys following Prescott's season-ending ankle injury. With Dalton out, Dallas is forced to turn to former James Madison quarterback Ben DiNucci. A cart came out as Dalton stayed down on the field, but he ultimately walked off the field and to the locker room with assistance.

The quarterback needed help from trainers to get off the field and back into the locker room. where he was diagnosed nearly immediately with a concussion.

Dalton completed 9 of 19 passes throughout the course of the game before exiting from the hit. By all accounts, it was a nightmarish game for a Cowboys team who has been struggling to keep up in an already-diminished NFC East.
