The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 2,219 new positive cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the statewide total to 190,579.

Those new cases came as a result of 10,398 administered tests for a test positive rate of 2.6%. This puts the county's total to 1,028 cases, including 854 confirmed cases. It was also only the third day since the pandemic began that the province has recorded more than 200 cases, and the second-highest daily total ever recorded, behind only Thursday's record-setting 274 cases.

The two community outbreaks were identified at the Coast Spas Manufacturing facility on 202 Street in Langley and the Pace Processing plant on 55 Avenue in Surrey.

"In recent days, we have seen a number of new outbreaks of COVID-19 in the community and in long-term care facilities", Henry and Brown said. That dropped to 1,190 on Wednesday, with 299 in intensive care. About 18% are recovering at home or at a long-term care facility, less than 1% are recovering at a hospital and the deceased make up 1.1% of all cases, according to health department data.

Four health-care outbreaks have also been declared over, leaving the province with 18 active outbreaks in its health-care system.

Officials have ordered both locations to close as public health teams work with the operators to "strengthen their COVID-19 mitigation strategies", Fraser Health said.

"This is our opportunity and the time to take a step back from our social interactions and keep our groups small this weekend".

She said they could include conditions on wedding licences and reducing the province's current 50-person limit on gatherings.

Bonnie Henry reports that there are 4,319 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), 6,864 in Fraser Health, 250 on Vancouver Island, 662 in Interior Health and 371 in Northern Health.

A total of 10,247 people are now considered fully recovered from the virus, constituting 82 per cent of all known cases.
