Bale: Amazing to be back; great Spurs win against LASK

Tottenham Hotspur put their weekend woes behind them with a comfortable 3-0 victory over LASK to send them to the top of Group J in the Europa League, thanks to goals from Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son, and an own goal from Andres Andrade.

Jack Clarke also made his Spurs debut late into the game, and nearly got a goal too when he was found free at the back post - his effort flashing agonizingly past the top corner, keeping Spurs at just 3-0 where they saw the game out at that scoreline.

However, he admitted it will take time to find his feet.

Bale said, "We know these games are important".

"It is incredible to be back", Bale told BT Sport on Thursday.

It was a simple enough win for Tottenham, but Bale looked sharp, and says that he is treating the current period "as a mini pre-season" as he gets back up to full fitness. "Hopefully it won't take me long to get back up to full speed and I am enjoying being on the pitch and being back at this fantastic club".

"I believe that winning 3-0 in minute 80, we can play 50 more matches and it's not going to happen again so I don't want to be sticking on this and no stories about "Spursy" and this kind of thing", he said, in reference to the mocking tag often used by media and fans in England. "The only thing I ask is that you don't ask him about his fantastic goal on Sunday". I will give everything for this shirt.

"This is a great squad that has a lot of depth, hopefully we can use that to our advantage".

Lucas Moura opened the scoring with 18 minutes gone, latching on to Carlos Vinicius' square pass to slot past Alexander Schlager, and Vinicius could have opened his account for the club just shy of the half-hour mark.

"I know Jose Mourinho is a victor and wants to win a trophy here".
