Springfield-Greene County Health Department Announces 44th COVID-19 Death

And 28,365 tests results were reported through 10 p.m. Friday, the most one-day outcome. Employees account for 4,742 of the cases, with 26,586 total cases at 951 facilities in61 counties.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department announced Saturday afternoon the county's 44th death connected to complications of COVID-19.

McCreary County has had a total of 128 COVID-19 cases, including 23 active cases, which are all self-isolated.

Knox County has had a total of 11 COVID-19 deaths with the most recent death occurring on August 25.


The provisional 7-day average daily new confirmed and probable cases (by date of test collection) for CDC week 36 was 243, slightly increased from the previous CDC week 35's daily average of 295.

So far, McCreary County has had no COVID-19 deaths. New cases are being reported as a daily aggregate, with a more detailed summary report updated Tuesdays and Fridays.

The additional death being reported today was a 78-year-old woman who was a resident of the Sunnyvale. There were 332 COVID-19 patients in acute care in Dallas County for the period ending on Thursday, September 10. People younger than 20 years old make up just under 13% of all county cases. The new total is 8,769.

Between April 6 and May 17, Whitley County had 11 COVID-19 cases diagnosed, all of whom have been released from isolation.


The total number of deaths in the county since March has been seven. There were two people hospitalized, regardless of residency, in the county.

On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear reported 948 new COVID-19 cases, of which 151 cases involved children ages 18 and younger, and nine new deaths. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered. "Our positivity rate is also going up".

Across Pennsylvania, 7,862 deaths have been tied to COVID-19, including 25 newly reported fatalities Saturday.
