"I urge all residents to continue taking precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19", county judge Richard F. Cortez said in a news release. "This includes practicing social distancing at all times, wearing cloth face coverings in public places, practicing good hand hygiene, and isolating immediately if you show symptoms of COVID-19". There are now 2,023 net active cases in the county. The number of hospitalized patients is down from about 1,000 new daily admissions just a few weeks ago.

Of the total COVID-19 cases, 58 individuals are hospitalized, 16 of whom are in intensive care.

There were 137 new cases of the virus between Friday and Saturday, 119 from Saturday to Sunday, and 61 from Sunday to Monday.

Of the cases notified today, 98 are men and 110 are women.

"Covid-19 is an evolving pandemic and NPHET is committed to adapting advice and guidelines based on emerging evidence", he added.

Starr County reported a total of 35 additional positive cases of COVID-19 for the days of Sep.

County spokesman Phil Vanno said the county received 899 test results in the past day, and all were negative. 11 through Sep. 13.

"The decreasing number of daily hospitalizations is an important indicator because it is an accurate representation of how many people are now seriously ill from the virus", health officials wrote in a news release.

Provincially, 317 new cases were announced, including four that are epi-linked.

The national total takes account of the denotification of one previously-confirmed case.
