"Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... at 5 PM Saturday a 39-year-old woman entered the home where the Joe and Jennifer Montana were staying - she got in through an unlocked door".

The intruder reportedly happened across a woman holding a baby and, at some point, walked away with the child to a different part of the home.

Montana and his wife, Jennifer, allegedly found the intruder and confronted her. TMZ reported that they "wrestled the baby" out of the intruder's arms.

No word on the status of Joe's grandchild right now, or Joe and Jennifer, but certainly a potentially terrifying situation was quickly and heroically averted by the former Notre Dame and NFL football star. The intruder then reportedly moved to another part of the home with the baby.

The intruder fled the home, but was detained a few blocks away by authorities.

He earned four Super Bowl titles with the San Francisco 49ers and helped bring this position to the modern era with that organization in the 1980s. He also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs before being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000. From there, the woman ran away but was arrested by cops a short while later as they were in the vicinity on a separate call. What a world we live in!
