"We would also like to sincerely thank all healthcare professionals who choose to work in our managed isolation and quarantine facilities, they are a critical part of New Zealand's response to COVID-19".

There are up to 94 possible close contacts being followed up from the three gym classes at Les Mills.

Of these, 71 have been contacted and are self-isolating and we are in the process of contacting the remaining person. However, border restrictions and good hygiene are required, the ministry said. "The current advice is that anyone who is regarded as a casual contact in this instance is being advised to be tested, but they do not need to self-isolate unless advised to do so".

The move, however, is contingent on no COVID-19 cases appearing outside of Auckland between now and then. Two are in ICU, at North Shore and Waikato hospitals.

There were no new community cases on Tuesday.

There were 4402 tests conducted yesterday, and all but seven of the 3779 close contacts identified for the current outbreak have been reached and are self-isolating. Now, after the arrival of three people from Dubai to New Zealand, the covid test positive was stirred.

There are now 2,207,900 registered users on the Government's official NZ COVID Tracer contact tracing app.

All Jet Park quarantine workers should also have been re-tested by today following the nurse at the hotel who tested positive at the weekend.

This includes four related to the health care worker case, covering the Les Mills Takapuna gym (2), the Warehouse Milford, and Countdown Milford. Now 56 people who belong to the community cluster are housed in the Auckland Quarantine Center.

"With the opportunity cost, in terms of lost output to the economy, running in excess of $200 million for every week the rest of the country remains at Alert Level 2, as opposed to Alert Level 1, the economic risks are rising sharply and in inverse relationship to the Director General's stated health risk assessment that the outbreak in Auckland is contained".

With Monday's new case and two additional recovered cases, the country's total number of active cases is 96.
