Lyon director Juninho has previous confirmed talks have been held with Arsenal counterpart Edu about a potential move for Aouar but the Ligue 1 outfit weren't interested in taking Matteo Guendouzi as part of any deal.

Various media outlets claimed that the player has already agreed his weekly wages with the Gunners and that the Premier League giants are in talks with Lyon over his transfer.

Football.London says Arsenal are set to significantly increase their offer for Aouar.

RMC report the Gunners will return with a second attempt, but they're creeping up with the amount rather than making a leap to get closer to Lyon's asking price.

Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon's president, will try his best to hold firm on the value in the coming days, and it's nearly certain the Premier League club will have to pay more than €40m. "We count on him to make a big game in Lorient and lead Olympique Lyon in Champions League next year".

Arsenal are actively trying to offload Lucas Torreira to Atletico Madrid or Italy, in a bid to raise the funds required to sign Aouar.

The elegant midfielder would bring added creativity to Mikel Arteta's side, the 22-year-old having scored 24 goals and provided 27 assists in his 139 outings for Les Gones, Aouar capable of playing as both a number 8 or number 10 as well sometimes being utilised from the left.
