Majors, who now plays Atticus Freeman on the Lovecraft Country TV adaptation, is also known for roles in movies like The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Da 5 Bloods.

Majors will play one of the lead roles in the flick along with Rudd and Lilly. Kang is a popular villain in the Marvel universe as he boasts the ability to hop through time.

Ant-Man 3 has found its villain. Peyton Reed, who helmed the first two films - "Ant-Man" and "Ant-Man and The Wasp", returns to direct the latest installment with a script written by Jeff Loveness.

As for the release date of the film, for now, it is believed to be dropping in 2022. It's easy to see why Marvel went after him for what could be a crucial role throughout the next phase of the MCU, as his turns since then in Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods and HBO series Lovecraft Country have cemented him as a strong actor and an increasingly recognizable name.

Kang has gone by many different identities in comics - even appearing as a hero named "Iron Lad", at times. You could certainly use Kang just once, but given his stature in Marvel lore, he seems much more likely to become a villain on par with Thanos. The third part of the franchise is also expected to bring back the Quantum Realm technology introduced in "Ant-Man & the Wasp", which fueled the plot of "Avengers: Endgame".

Kang is a time-travelling, cosmic problem in the comics who has regularly done battle with the Avengers.
