Musk looked confused after hearing his son's name and asked the reporter to repeat the question.

Elon Musk has visited Germany to discuss his new European Tesla factory that is now under construction in Germany.

The Canadian popstar replied: "X Æ A-Xii". Musk seems genuinely confused for a minute.

After understanding and hearing for the second time, Musk bursts out in laughter, saying, 'Oh, you mean my kid?

Musk and musician partner Grimes welcomed their first child together on May 4 and chose to name the baby boy X Æ A-12 Musk. "That sounds like a password", he replied. "I think next time I am going to bring him, maybe come back in a few months and bring him along".

X Æ A-12's name also faced a lawful violation in California, where the infant was born, for its number 12, not allowed in the state.

Under these laws only the 26 letters of the English alphabet, including hyphens, could be used. X Æ A-Xii.

Grimes later then confirmed that they had changed the name of the baby.

Elon Musk's son, "Ex", in simple terms, is the Tesla CEO and Canadian musician, singer-songwriter, Claire Boucher, also known as her stage name, 'Grimes,' nearly four-month-old newborn. "What is the baby's new name?" asked one Twitter user in the comments under the post.

Grimes previously broke down the meaning of the name for intrigued fans.

She revealed X stands for the "unknown variable, ' Æ is the 'elven spelling" of AI (meaning love or artificial intelligence) and A-12 is the name of the couple's favourite aircraft and stands for Archangel, Grimes favourite song. "Great in battle, but non-violent", she added. I don't know if Grimes will find that so amusing though. The name pronounced "Ex Ash A Twelve", first name X, is so confusing that even Elon Musk didn't recognise the name, when he was asked about his son today.
