Karan further clarified in his statement that reports of Dharma Production executive Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra being his "aides", "close aides" are not true. Taking to Twitter, Sirsa wrote: "Sources suggest that the NCB will soon summon Karan Johar also". The party was attended by the who's who of Bollywood, including actors like Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora among others.

"The NCB officers apart from Sameer Wankhede were courteous to Kshitij and provided him with a comfortable sleeping arrangement". After over 48 hours in such custody, he was extremely worn out and shaken.

"Sameer Wankhede informed him that if he wished to be granted a call, he should sign the statement they prepared, which he could retract later. He requested to speak with Sameer Wankhede alone and enquired if he had offended him", Mr Maneshinde told the court, stressing that Mr Prasad "also reiterated that he would very much like to speak with his lawyer or family". Kshitij was unaware of the legalities involved and had never even come across this term of "retraction of statement". The arrest came after hours of interrogation.

"All these slanderous and malicious statements, news articles and news clippings have unnecessarily subjected me, my family, and my colleagues, and Dharma Productions, to hatred, contempt and ridicule", read a part of his statement.

He also denied that he personally knew the two individuals being questioned by the NCB that media outlets have branded as Johar's "aides" at Dharma Productions. No narcotics substance was consumed in the party.

He added, "Mr Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment sister concern of Dharma Productions in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialise".

In Prasad's remand application, the NCB stated that it is integral to find out whom Prasad was delivering drugs to in Bollywood. He returned to Mumbai the next day.

The NCB has registered a case under the NDPS Act on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after several alleged chats discussing drugs were found from the phone of Rhea and her brother Showik. On Friday, NCB searched the house of executive producer of the company and then took him to the NCB office.
