His girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested earlier this month under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act for procuring drugs and is in judicial custody.

According to the reports, Deepika will be questioned about 2017 drug chats, besides alleged payments that she made for them. Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash who was also questioned on Friday said that the reference of doobie was merely to rolled tobacco cigarettes. No other actor is part of this group.

NCB officer KPS Malhotra accused the actress of trying to "mislead" the agency through 'excuses.' The agency threatened to serve her a non-bailable warrant if she continues to evade them with excuses. Officials at NCB's Mumbai office did not respond to calls from Reuters.

The actress booked a charter plane to arrive in the coastal city. Hashtags like #MaalHaiKya, #BoycottBollywoodDruggies, #DeepikaMaalChats, #BollywoodDrugGag are also trending on Twitter.

Reportedly, the NCB has not yet taken a decision on Ranveer's application. Her husband, Ranveer Singh had also joined the video conference along with her lawyers. Deepika received the summon after her Whatsapp chats with her manager leaked, where a person denoted as "D" was asking for "maal", "hash".

Now, in his request to the NCB, Ranveer has stated that Deepika, at times, suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, and thus he should be given permission to be with her.

According to Times Now, NCB sources have revealed that the WhatsApp group on the basis of which Deepika was issued summons, was administered by the starlet herself.
