Cardi B files for divorce from rapper Offset amid cheating scandal

Offset turned to Cardi and said "marry me", and she was down.

Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset. The Grammy-winner, 27, reportedly filed divorce papers on Tuesday in Georgia, where the couple has a home together. However, in a surprise move, the Bronx-born rapper has filed from divorce from her husband of almost three years. Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is listed as the plaintiff while Offset (né Kiari Kendrell Cephus) is listed as the defendant.

According to TMZ, she is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Kulture.

The Bronx-born recording artist is also seeking child support, although TMZ states the exact amount is still unclear.

In Vogue's January 2020 cover story Cardi got candid about some of the things she and Offset were still working through. No word on spousal support either, for now at least.

Cardi and Offset were secretly married in 2017 and share two-year-old daughter Kulture. As we first reported. their nuptials were a bit unorthodox from the jump, and nearly went backward (publicly speaking).

Cardi's songs with Offset and Migos include the songs "Clout" and "Drip".

They hit a rough patch in the marriage a few years ago - amid cheating rumors - but they buried the hatchet and seemed tight. this after a whole lot of apologizing and courting on Offset's end.

Offset made a number of public gestures to get Cardi back, including when he crashed her set at Rolling Loud festival in LA, along with a huge "Take Me Back Cardi" sign made out of white and red roses.
