If you're somehow unfamiliar with the Amnesia franchise, it's a long-running series of games that put players into scary supernatural situations.

For more on Amnesia: Rebirth, you can read our interview with Frictional Games, where the team exposes what made them go back to the world of Dark Descent and more about how they perform those unforgettable scares.

In the new trailer released today, we journey deeper into the twisted story behind Amnesia: Rebirth.

Ten years after the launch of their critically-acclaimed game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Frictional Games presents a new trailer announcing the release date for the much-anticipated horror sequel, Amnesia: Rebirth, scheduled to arrive on October 20 on PC and PlayStation 4.

The Amnesia series has become legendary at this point for its use of atmospheric horror and the sense of dread it's capable of building as players explore its worlds and unravel its mysteries while attempting to keep sanity in check. How did she get here?

"Amnesia is not just another haunted house spook-fest, but an emotionally harrowing journey", says Frictional creative director Thomas Grip. Thus, players must guide the character along, retracing Tasi's steps to piece together her horribly fragmented memory.

First-person narrative horror experience. Amnesia: Rebirth promises to continue that pedigree of fear in 2020, and now we know exactly when. Pre-orders are already available on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the PlayStation Store.
