Plug in the smart plug and open the Alexa app on any of your smart devices. Amazon's smart plug would allow users to use Alexa app or Alexa-enabled smart speaker to operate the appliances.

The Smart Plug has been designed for the Indian market - it uses a 3-pin socket design, it supports 6A power rating and a state retention feature that ensures that appliances go back to their last state (on/off) in case of a power outage and resumption.

When a user receives a shared routine, they simply click the URL while on the mobile device where they have the Alexa app installed.

How to set up Amazon Smart Plug? There is an on/ off button on the left side and an LED indicator on the front. "With Amazon Smart Plug, customers can add smart voice control to any appliance without the need to upgrade it". The smart plug can be operated using a compatible Echo, Fire TV, or any Alexa device. For example, they can ask, "Alexa, turn off the fan" or "Alexa, turn on mosquito repellant". This can also help in setting up routines and saving time by telling Alexa to, say, switch on the light and put on the kettle, so that by the time the user reaches the kitchen after getting up, the water is already boiling. Also, they can remotely turn the smart plug on or off if they forgot to do it before leaving home. You can get your Smart Plus along with an Echo Dot for Rs 4,498 or an Echo Dot with Clock at Rs 5,498.

With Big B being a household name in a country of 1.3 billion; Amazon revealed that his "unique celebrity voice experience" feature will be available to purchase next year. Tap on the Devices icon in the lower right of the Alexa app and then tap on the '+' icon.
