Walmart plans free drive-in movies, 4 in Alabama

The Walmart Drive-In, which will show a total of 320 movies, will turn parking lots into outdoor movie theaters from August 14th to October 21st.

Businesses around the country continue to amend their everyday practices to adhere to the CDC's social distancing guidelines amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Get your popcorn ready, because Tribeca is thrilled to announce we've put together some incredible programming for Walmart Drive-in.


Walmart is now dabbling with the film industry. Movies planned for the tour include "Wonder Woman", "Spy Kids", "Space Jam", "Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse", "Ghostbusters", "The Wizard of Oz", "Black Panther", "E.T. the Extra Terrestrial" and "Friday Night Lights".

Families will need an FM radio to listen to the film.


Short films will kick off each feature, including Bilby, Bird Karma, Brooklyn Breeze, CROW:The Legend, Fire In Cardboard City, INVASION!, Looney Tunes' Boo! She will also make a surprise in-person appearance at one location. Fans can also expect virtual or real-life visits from celebrities like Drew Barrymore, LeBron James, and Jennifer Garner. "The Walmart Drive-in is one small way we're supporting the communities we serve".

Starting today at 5:00 p.m. ET, families can visit www.TheWalmartDriveIn.com to discover dates, store locations, and the movies for each stop on the tour.

Tickets are free but must be requested in advance as they will not be available at the gate.
