The first Amway coaches poll (powered by USA TODAY) has been released and the Michigan State Spartans are nowhere to be found.

The Cowboys are No. 16.

Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia make up the top four. Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida, Oregon and Notre Dame checked in No. 6-10 respectively. They are followed by Ohio State, which received 17 first-place votes.

Clemson received 38 first-place votes.

It's unclear if the votes for this poll came in after reigning Big Ten Receiver of the Year Rashod Bateman opted out of the 2020 season citing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the last 10 years, WVU also finished a season ranked in the Coaches' poll in 2018 (22nd) and 2011 (18th). The Big Ten is still scheduled to play on Labor Day weekend as scheduled while the ACC will have its teams start play on September 12.
