The unsealed documents naming Dershowitz are from the 2015 civil defamation lawsuit by Giuffre against Epstein's associate and ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who is facing multiple sex crime charges for her alleged involvement in the abuse ring.

The cache of documents released on Thursday and the depositions that remain under wraps were part of a now-settled 2015 civil defamation lawsuit against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, who said she was underage when Epstein kept her as a "sex slave" with Maxwell's assistance. Ms Maxwell was recently arrested on federal charges that she recruited at least three girls, including one as young as 14, for Epstein to sexually abuse in the 1990s.

In seeking to keep Maxwell's deposition sealed, her lawyers said in court papers on Thursday she had been promised confidentiality by Giuffre's lawyers and the presiding judge at the time, through an agreed-upon protective order, before answering many personal, sensitive and "allegedly incriminatory " questions about her dealings with Epstein.

Dozens of documents detailing Ghislaine Maxwell's relations with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein were released on Thursday, despite her legal team's objections. "And the last conversation that I had with him, I can't remember when it was, he said that he was having trouble doing it from the people above him", Giuffre said.

She was also charged with two counts of perjury, according to the indictment by the acting United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, Audrey Strauss. Giuffre noted that, "I would go in and act like a little kid and we'd do roleplaying sexing".

When asked by King whether she thought there should be men panicking over what Maxwell might tell authorities, Giuffre said she would "really hope they are".

The Guardian quoted an unnamed friend of the prince, saying there was no proof of any of these actions.

Epstein was found dead of an apparent suicide in his NY jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial.

Responding to a Maxwell email a few days later, Epstein wrote: "You have done nothing wrong and I (would) urge you to start acting like it".

Before the Court of Appeals granted Maxwell's request Friday, she had argued that release of her 2016 testimony would damage her chances of receiving a fair trial, as well as taint a jury that would be selected for a trial scheduled for next year, Bloomberg reported.

The indictment accuses Maxwell of luring the girls by asking them about their lives, schools and families and taking them shopping or to movies.

Documents about dealings between Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein were publicly released on Thursday by a U.S. court.

"Absent a stay from this court, it will forever let the cat out of the bag", her lawyers wrote. She faces six counts, including perjury, and faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted.

In an email on January 24, 2015, Maxwell appears to try to distance herself from any romantic relationship she had with Epstein, who befriended countless celebrities over the years.

It is not clear who Shelley is.
