Matuidi was a member of the French team that won the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

The French midfielder had another season left to run on his deal with Juve, but the Italian champions have agreed to terminate the remainder of his contract in order for the 33-year-old to join Miami on a free contract.

David Beckham's club Inter Miami have announced their first major signing, with 2018 FIFA World Cup victor Blaise Matuidi having joined them from Juventus.

Matuidi, who arrived in Turin from French side Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, won three Serie A titles with Juventus. "He is an exciting and gifted player and a great person", he said.

French footballer Blaise Matuidi will continue his professional career in the United States as American club Inter Miami signed him on Thursday.

He won four French Ligue 1 titles with PSG, three Serie A titles with Juventus, and helped the French national team bag the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Besides PSG and Juventus, Matuidi has played for France's Saint-Etienne.

"Matuidi played 98 games in Serie A and since his arrival at Juventus, and except for Paulo Dybala (134), no player has made more appearances across all competitions than him, turning out 133 times for the Bianconeri".

He helped Juventus win a ninth Serie A title in a row this season.

But the club's failure to advance past the Champions League last 16 led to the sacking of coach Maurizio Sarri after a single season.

Confirming his departure, Matuidi wrote on Instagram, "To have been a member of the Juventus family is a dream come true, an honour".

"I will always be your number one fan rather than number 14. Thank you Juventus, a very real thank you".
