Episodes of the present will first air on HBO and also will be accessible to stream through HBO Max. The Nicole Kidman-led series is directed by Emmy, Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning director Susanne Bier. This is clearly an idea both Kelley and Kidman are interested in as storytellers, and without having read Korelitz's novel, I'm excited to see how this story touches on that idea in a different way than Big Little Lies.

The Undoing premieres on HBO on October 25, 2020.

The series looks pretty bleak, much similar to Netflix's German show Dark.

The cable network said The Undoing, based on the book You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, stars Kidman as Grace Fraser and Grant as husband Jonathan Fraser as they navigate the fallout from a violent death and an ensuing series of scandals. Foreboding music, frustrated looking characters, Dark colour palette, all the yelling and so on gives the vide that watching it won't exactly be a cheery experience.

The series follows Grace (Kidman) and Jonathan Fraser (Grant), who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Kidman's Big Little Lies writer David E. Kelley serves as writer and creator, with Emmy victor Susanne Bier (The Night Manager) directing all six episodes.

Noma Dumezweni (Black Earth Rising) plays Haley Fitzgerald, Sofie Gråbøl (Gentleman Jack) is Catherine Stamper, Matilda De Angelis is Elena Alves, Ismael Cruz Córdova (Berlin Station) is Fernando Alves, and Emmy victor Donald Sutherland (Citizen X) plays Franklin Reinhardt. However, Grace's tranquility is shaken in one night by a sudden death, the disappearance of her husband and some disturbing revelations about her.
