DON'T MISS Donald Trump lambasts rival Joe Biden's shock new running mate [UPDATE] Trump election: Will Donald Trump be reelected?

Now, Palin is reflecting on the media's treatment of her candidacy and said she hopes that they treat Kamala Harris, who is only the third woman in U.S. history to serve as a vice presidential candidate for a major political party, fairly.

The former prosecutor, Ms Harris, compared Mr Trump's handling of the pandemic with Mr Obama's and Mr Biden's management of the much smaller Ebola outbreak in 2014. We need a mandate that proves that the past few years do not represent who we are or who we aspire to be.

Asked about the late scheduling of the presidential debates, Pence told Fox News host Sean Hannity: "The American people ought to hear from this president and hear from Joe Biden on the stage to talk about their competing visions for this country". He also revealed that his decision was impacted by his now-deceased son Beau's friendship with Harris.

Biden said Kamala would be the best partner for him to finally get the country back on track.

Biden took shots at Trump, who earlier had described Harris as "nasty" and "mean".

The exchange came just hours after President Trump also mispronounced Senator Harris's first name.

Biden referred to working families, implying that they "need someone on their side, because they certainly don't have anyone on their side with this president".

"Kamala Harris started strong in the Democrat primaries, and finished weak, ultimately fleeing the race with nearly zero support", he wrote in a tweet. Trump called her "very weak on facts". "Today, just maybe they're seeing themselves for the first time in a new way as the stuff of presidents and vice presidents". "When little girls from tribal communities look at this ticket, I hope they know and believe they can be anything they want to be in America", tweeted Pratte, who is Diné.

"Wow, that is embarrassing - for Kamala Harris", quipped Colbert.

Trump later spoke to the press at the White House, shortly after the first Biden-Harris campaign event, stating that he only watched "moments" of them speaking and lashing out at Harris for "insulting" Biden during the Democratic primaries.

Despite the awkwardly intimate setting, a far cry from the typical campaign rollout featuring an audience of thousands, Harris appeared telegenic and confident in her first speech as vice presidential nominee - for which she and Biden both arrived wearing facemasks.

"While Trump poses in Oshkosh, the nation will see Democrats speak at the COVID-safe virtual Milwaukee convention about Joe Biden's uniting vision for America", Wikler writes. The convention is slated to start August 17 and is to rap up by August 20. Harris and Pence will square off in a vice presidential debate in October in Utah, and while Harris has shown herself to be a fierce debater, Pence sounded optimistic. More than 11 million Asian Americans will be able to vote in November, according to a May report by the Pew Research Center.
