Sanjay Dutt's Wife Releases Statement On Actor's Cancer Report; Daughter Turns 32

The 61-year-old actor, who was admitted to Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai on Saturday after he complained of breathlessness, was discharged on Monday, reports the Hindustan Times.

The news has left everyone from Bollywood to cricketing landscapes in shock, and many took to social media to wish Dutt a speedy recovery.

"You are, have and always will be a fighter @duttsanjay". All we seek is your prayers and blessings, and we know we will emerge as winners on the other side, as we always have. "Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity", Maanayata added.


According to reports, the actor will soon fly to the United States for treatment. "With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon", the tweet read.

Press reports later quoted a tweet from respected film trade journalist Komal Nahta saying that the 61-year-old has been diagnosed with lung cancer and would travel to the USA for treatment.

But now with his illness, Sanjay Dutt may not be allowed to resume shooting for a while especially for strenuous sequences. Now, as the friends and fans of Sanjay Dutt are anxious about his health, his wife, Maanayata Dutt has released an official statement about his health. It's been a challenging year to say the least but I'm thankful for my health, family, and friends.


A day after the actor announced his break, his wife Maanayata Dutt in a statement revealed the status of the actors health and urged fans not to fall prey to rumors. In 1981, Sanjay Dutt acted in Rocky, which was released by his father, Sunil Dutt.
