"Although I generally do whatever the hell @TheRock tells me to do", he posted on Twitter, referencing previously working with the former wrestler on Hobbs & Shaw, and on the upcoming Netflix thriller Red Notice.

Dwayne joined the fun on Twitter and responded, "You ARE playing Hawkman and that's that".

The attached video shows footage of Reynolds' "death scene" from Deadpool, a wildly cut down version of 2011's Green Lantern, a quick glimpse of Tom Cruise in Top Gun, and finally Reynolds' Hal Jordan inserted into the ending of 2017's Justice League.

- Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) August 4, 2020I'm not playing Hawkman in Black Adam. Did Taylor Swift Drop the Name of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's Third Baby in Her Song "Betty"? "Like in real life, as per your blood test". Set in the world of worldwide crime, INTERPOL issues a Red Notice, a global alert to hunt down and capture the world's most wanted art thief.

The Rock's Black Adam has been a hot topic of discussion for months now. Though plot details are thin on the ground, Johnson has previously confirmed that Black Adam will introduce the Justice Society, with the heroes Stargirl and Hawkman reportedly set to make an appearance.

Where the Snyder Cut will expand the two-hour theatrical version of Justice League - which was taken over by Joss Whedon after Snyder left the film - into a three-and-a-half-hour behemoth, the Reynolds Cut reduces Green Lantern's 123-minute runtime to a mere 27 seconds. The "film" ends with a tableau shot of the core JL team - Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Flash and Cyborg - regarding their newest applicant. Dwayne Johnson had revealed that it will go on floors this month or the next.
