If it's a kitschy, culty pop-cultural artefact today, it remains a controversial piece of Star Wars lore (Chewie's son "Lumpy", anyone?) - but that isn't stopping Disney from bringing us a second bite of the apple.

The primary inspiration for The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special appears to be A Christmas Carol. The new LEGO special is the first to debut on the streaming platform and will continue the rich longtime collaboration between Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group - playful adventures told in an endearingly irreverent way.

Disney+'s The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special will hit the streamer on November 17.

This November, Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron will return in their building-block versions to celebrate Life Day in the upcoming The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.

It's not easy to track down, but 1978's Star Wars Holiday Special remains a big talking point among fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away. She and BB-8 must work their way out of the jedi temple and get back to their friends in time for Life Day celebrations. You'll have to watch to find out! Available September 1, the Advent Calendar was designed in concert with the development and production of the show and features holiday-themed characters from the special. In addition, the executive producer also teased that a few Star Wars movie actors are reprising their roles. DK will also release the LEGO Star Wars Holiday sticker book, which lets build-a-brick fans stick instead of click.

Directed by Ken Cunningham and written by David Shayne, this 45-minute throwback will take place in a post-Rise of Skywalker environment that's definitely going to cause headaches for devotees of the canon. Additional executive producers include James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jason Cosler, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone.
