Manchester United interested in Ligue 1 defender, a good deal?

Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes hopes to land his dream move to the Premier League with Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly battling it out for his signature.

The 22-year-old is on United's radar as his age, potential and price - in the region of £20m - all fit the bill for a possible move to Old Trafford.

The Brazilian is left-footed so would allow Maguire to move over to his preferred position on the right side of central defence and at 6ft 3inches he's excellent in the air so I think he could be a shrewd signing if Man Utd can get a deal agreed.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of interest from Everton for a couple of months now but recently Man United seem to have jumped the queue and are currently the frontrunners in signing him.

And it's understood Lille will listen to offers of around £27m for the hotshot.

The report also goes on to add that Lille might be using the name of Manchester United in order to force the other interested clubs like Everton to make an inflated bid, especially since they have a history of doing that. The defender took time to become a regular starter for the French side. However, from there, he struck an outstanding partnership with Jose Fonte, thereby making a mark for himself in Lille's first-team. He has been key behind Lille's success this season as the club qualified for the Champions League for the first time in seven years.

Manchester United boss Solskjaer partnered Maguire with Sweden global Victor Lindelof throughout most of the Premier League season but doubts remain surrounding the former Benfica defender.

Gabriel has continued his ascent this season, with a string of impressive performances both domestically and in the Champions League.
