There have been 144 in Island Health, 369 in the Interior Health region, 88 in Northern Health and 63 cases in people who reside outside of Canada.

Dania Home is a two-storey long-term care home with 102 beds.

The province also announced one new health-care outbreak Friday, at the Dania Home in the Fraser Health region.

Five people remained in hospital Friday, two of them in critical care, and 278 cases remain active.

Five individuals are now receiving treatment in hospital, two of whom are in intensive care.

The Fraser Health Authority confirmed the COVID-19 case is a staff member at Dania Home. 195 people have died of COVID-19 in B.C.

There are no new community outbreaks.

The ministry says most of the new cases are connected to an ongoing outbreak at a berry packing plant in the Fraser Valley.

The latter outbreak prompted the provincial government to announce Thursday that it would restrict non-resident travel to the archipelago.

The province also warned of additional community exposure events that have taken place across the province, including an ever-growing list of flights travelling to or from Vancouver International Airport.

The province recorded 50 COVID-19 cases and an outbreak at another care home ahead of the Friday before the B.C. Day long weekend, as well as another death.

Those precautions include keeping groups small, using "layers of protection" and ensuring there is enough space for people to maintain physical distance from each other, Henry and Dix said.

The health authority says that a staff member at Dania Home has tested positive for coronavirus.

"Good times have been linked to community outbreaks of COVID-19 in B.C.", the guide opens. "Have a good time - safely".
