IPL franchises are finalising preparations for the tournament in the UAE even as the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Tuesday it has received official clearance from the BCCI to host this year's edition.

The BCCI has acquired approval from the Government of India to arrange the 13th version of the IPL within the UAE.

"I can confirm that Unacademy has shown interest and picked the bid papers".

"The UAE is well-versed in delivering successful events - sporting and lifestyle - and we remain in very close contact with the BCCI, IPL committees, the UAE Government and Ministries, our Health Authority, as well as many other entities, who are all experts in their respective fields and it is our collective intent that the tournament be played in a safe, enjoyable environment. There's an idea to send a proforma to the state associations and they will need to follow the standard procedure to implement the contracts", a BCCI source told Times of India.

The BCCI, last week, had made a decision to suspend the partnership with Chinese mobile company Vivo. Dream11 is the official partner of the IPL.

The official explained that the central sponsorship would not have included jersey rights. The league's name itself is rebranded to include the name of the title sponsor, as in "Vivo IPL".

"Unlike some of the other Edu-Tech apps, Unacademy has 100 per cent Indian investment". The same is true for foodtech company Swiggy, and payments company Paytm, which are also among the sponsors for the competition. It will now submit its bid to replace Vivo this season as the title sponsor.

As per the current protocol laid by the BCCI and IPL Governing Council, every squad member will have to undergo a seven-day quarantine period in the team hotel and will be tested three times - on days 1, 3 and 6. "If they become title sponsors, it will give them rights on various branding properties", he said.

The final list of bidders will be known on August 14, the last date for submitting expressions of interest (EoI).

Speculations were also rife about Reliance Jio earning title sponsorship rights for the league this year.
