Elliott finishes ninth in New Hampshire, stays top 5 in series standings

"We've had a lot of great races this year with the 2 vehicle, but we just haven't really went out and kind of dominated a race", Keselowski said. "They got the better end of us". "I was talking to (crew chief) Jeremy Bullins about what we needed to get to that next level, and that right there, is what we need to go and dominate a race".

Busch did drive for a different team (Stewart-Haas Racing) two years ago, but his sixth-place finish at Phoenix, another flat, one-mile circuit earlier this season gives me confidence that Chip Ganassi Racing can give him a fast race auto at this style of track.

Yes, I do have a handful of bets I'm making that I still think provide edges, but I'm more bullish on prop-betting opportunities for New Hampshire, specifically top-five and top-10 finish markets.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver got exactly what he predicted out of his No. 19 Toyota at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. "It feels like forever, so welcome back, guys". But Jeremy Bullins has focused on helping Keselowski win races and earn a contract extension.

"This is the same tire and similar track to Phoenix [site of the season-finale], and we know that's what you've got to do to win this championship", Keselowski said. "It's interesting to see how it played out today, where we kind of stacked up". "I'm just really thankful".

The competition caution flew on lap 31 and allowed the drivers to pit for tires and fuel.

"We just kind of were second there to the 2 [Keselowski]", Hamlin siad. "We could really do well on restarts and we were going back-and-forth", Hamlin said. Light showers hit the track two hours before the race's 3 p.m. start time. Hopefully, the fans liked what they saw there with me and the 2 for most of the day. Some great side-by-side racing. Although there was enough precipitation to slow the race, the even was never red-flagged. "That definitely made things a lot more challenging".

Harvick, who was two laps down at one point, marched his way back to the front, passing Matt Dibenedetto with only a few laps to go. Just have to find a little bit more.

Keselowski's Team Penske teammate Joey Logano finished fourth and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-five. "We were really good on the longer runs". We needed a caution. "That's great. I want to win at my home track, but nice to have a solid run". Another caution came out soon after, though, and Logano was able to take fuel only to get off pit road first for a brief lead. While it was all going smoothly at the front, the same could not be said for defending victor Kevin Harvick who was forced to make a green flag pit stop in the stage after an ill-fated fuel strategy.

The two swapped stage wins and held the lead a combined 18 times before Keselowski claimed his third victory since the sport returned from the pandemic shutdown, along with the now-traditional prize of an 18-pound, live lobster.

Roles were reversed in the second 100-lap stage.

The winless season continues for the reigning Cup champion who was relegated to the last place finishing position, marking the first time Busch finished shotgun to the field in over four years.

It was the third race of the season Busch didn't finish, and without a checkered flag, his title defense is not guaranteed. Truex now ranks seventh in the points standings, too, with 648 points - 155 behind leader Kevin Harvick - and six races remaining in the regular season.

The drama dramatically intensified just a short time later when Kyle Busch slammed the wall in the same corner after cutting down a tire, catalyzed by earlier wall contact.
