Taylor Swift was called out for using a logo for her new album folklore's merch that was quite similar to the logo of a Black-owned fashion business, reports Cosmo.

"According to the merits of the plan, I think the designer of this merch ripped off my institution's emblem", she composed July 24. Rasool's lawyers reached out to Swift's team to let her know that the similar names were causing confusion for Rasool's customers, and also pointed out that the logo for Taylor's new merchandise was also really similar to the one she uses for her site. "It's not just damaging to one Black woman, it's all the brands that we work with". "Yesterday, we were made aware of a complaint that the specific use of the word "the" before "folklore album" on some of the folklore album merchandise was of concern. She is now selling merchandise with the words "The Folklore" printed on them", Amira Rasool, the founder of The Folklore, called out via an Instagram post.

Swift, who's known for country songs and pop hits, went alternative this time with the album she recorded while stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic. "So i see i went viral while i didn't have my phone [crying face emoji]", she tweeted.

According to The Folklore's website, the brand is a New York City-based "innovative online retail concept" that sells high-end and emerging designer brands from Africa and the Africa diaspora.

Following this, Rasool took to Twitter to thank Swift's team for their response.

"I recognize that she has been a strong advocate for women protecting their creative rights, so it was good to see her team is on the same page", she wrote in a tweet.

"Taylor, for her part, took swift action (had to), issuing a statement to Good Morning America saying they'd stopped production on merchandise displaying "the folklore", rather than 'folklore".

Rasool added: "It was a great first step and we are in conversation right now with Taylor's team about the next steps to make this situation right".

She definitely does not deserve that, so here's hoping those of Swift's fans who are bad actors stop that.
